May Meet confirmation..:)

Hi Folks...most of you will be aware of this by now, but for those that are not......

The first meet of the season is set...It will be at The Hollywood Legends American Diner, on the A47 Swaffham. This seems to be the most central point among our ever growing member area so seems like a good starting point...and it also has a huge car park so there will be plenty of room for Dubs! (Oh, and I have been lead to believe the food is pukka as well...)

If you have been following the thread you will know that We have talked about changing the venue every month, a sort of ECAC on tour if you will....The idea was to give it a bit of variety and try to be fairer to the members that may have to travel further than others every time if we settle for a fixed venue..the point has been raised that this may cause fragmentation and hinder the growth of the club, however We are going with the travelling idea for now and see how it pans out.....

So, if you have any ideas or know of suitable venues for future meets near you then get along to the forum and have your say...We would love to hear your thoughts on this (and anything else to do with the club of course..) For now though lets concentrate on the first meet and make it a good one to kick start the new season, so spread the word (Feel free to mention it on any other forums you may frequent!) and set your Sat Nav for PE37 7PZ....Sunday 13th May @ 1PM See you there Folks! I have a possible venue in mind for future reference subject to group confirmation.
The Crown Inn, Pulham Market IP21 4TA. They don't have a big car park but they are on a village green! in the summer they open it up for small music festivals and classic car shows. Picture postcard setting. The landlord is happy to organise it with the parish council if we were interested

Just thought i would let you know i have posted our meet on earlybay.com in the club section ! If anyone is a member of late bay or any other forums would be a good idea . Also I shall be leaving McD's @ Gillingham Beccles at 11.30am sharp if anyone else would like to tag along on route would be great i shall be going A146 & A47 and billy will be travelling and a warp speed of 50mph due to running in, so if any of you fancy saving a bit of fuel feel free If you wait in a layby we shall pull in

Our beloved Bertha has died on us this evening - after starting her I noticed fluid dripping from the engine bay - petrol pipe split so on sorting that she will no longer start!!!!! On turning the key there is nothing - not even a click, pushed back and forth to jump it and nothing, loads of other bits and still nothing.

So yet again I have a dead van with no idea on what is wrong, anyone have any ideas at all coz at this rate I wont be going anywhere in her!! NOT GOT A HAPPY WIFE EITHER

Do the dash lights come on when the ignition is on? If so do they dim when you try and operate the starter? Did you disconnect the battery when working on it? If yes to the above it sounds like a loose / dirty connection on the battery or starter or ground strap...have you had this problem before or is it just since the work today?

Nope they dont dim when I try to operate the starter
Nope I didnt disconnect the battery when replacing the petrol hose
Never had the problem before - just today after I switched the engine off when I saw the petrol leaking out all over.

Perhaps not the answers you was hoping for, lol

Well if they don't dim then that would suggest 12 volts is not getting down to the solenoid.....did you do any electrical work today? Either way I would start by removing the battery and starter connections and cleaning them up and re fitting, also check the ground strap to the gearbox...if that doesn't work try tapping the starter solenoid while the missus operates the key (obviously make sure its in neutral and the handbrake on if you don't want to get run over..ha)...if all that fails then suspect the ignition switch.

Been buggering about all day to get Bertha sorted out and needing new cables, clips, wires and the list goes on.
So got 1 peeved wife and a camper that is destined to go no where apart from our front to back garden and vice a versa!!!

Well I hope that the meet went well and I will endevour to get her up and running without any problems and try round 2, as they say.
Got a cracking venue this way to for a weekend camping too - let me know who wants the details

Was great to see the people behind the cars! although it's shown me just how little I know/am capable of!

Will deff be at the next one...hopefully with my leak fixed!...or located at least!

Sure was a good meet! An excellent turn out as well so thanks to everyone that turned up, it was good to meet all the new folk and catch up with the usual suspects.

Airwalker - Sorry I didnt get round to looking at your leak problem, got sidetracked chatting to everybody

One thought I did have though if it seems to be coming up from the road rather than rain fall and you are confident the inner arches and floor are sound..maybe the rubber seal between the chassis and heater channel is shot / missing? Worth a look with a torch held behind the join if you see what I mean...

Am gutted we missed the meet, it looked like it was a good meet. Went to start her up and start heading to the venue, nothing happened. Have found out that the alternator has packed up. Will you possible use that venue again? as its only just down the road from us and it would be good to have a meet close to home. Hopefully we will be able to attend the next meet.

Ross if it was that close you could have walked Don't worry about the meets being close to home, it's all about the "Drive"! I hope you get your wheels back on the road soon
